Description

(definition copied from Enterprise Financials documentation)
An entity is an independent financial unit within a domain, and is used to
generate financial reporting of a business unit (for example, a legal entity
or autonomous branch or operation). Create entities within the domain for
the organizations and entities your system requires. For example, create
an entity for the headquarters of an international organization, and then
entities for each subsidiary. You can perform intercompany accounting
and consolidation within this structure, and produce balance sheets and
income statements both for the individual entity and for the whole
organization.
